Wedding Wednesday: Pinterest Inspiration!

I feel like I am knee deep in wedding planning at the moment so I thought I would give a glimpse at some of the images that have been inspiring me most as well as an update as to where we’re at! No surprise, I have been loving everything blush pink and have been obsessed with looking at wedding decor posts! If you want to see more, then I have been pinning away on Pinterest 🙂

We can’t really nail anything down until we look at the venues – we were due to have a look a few weeks ago but the trip had to be delayed so we’re now planning on visiting at the end of June. That said, we do have a few things decided. We had a further, more detailed ‘budget talk’ so roughly know what we’re spending and where. I think I’m going to do a whole video on wedding budgeting but for us, it’s been important to identify our top 3 priorities each so we know where we want to spend and where we’re happy to save. Anything wedding related seems to cost a fortune so this is definitely important!

We’ve also narrowed down the photographer options and I think I’m that little bit closer to finding *the* dress 😀

I’m still dithering about the colour scheme for the florals and general decor and haven’t moved on much beyond all white or white and pink. That said, we’re currently leaning towards dusky blue for the bridesmaids dresses and I have no idea if you can really mix and match colours!? Any opinions here would be welcome – would dusky blue dresses and pale pink flowers look odd together?

The other thing that has been my favourite to pin has been wedding cakes and dessert tables. I have been blown away by how creative people are! There are SO many beautiful designs and layouts – I’m so looking forward to (and slightly intimidated by haha!) trying to create something of my own!

Thank you so much for stopping by (and apologies for the wedding waffle – I could go on for an age!)!

As a wedding photographer, I strongly suggest it skimping on the photography. It will be all you have that is tangible from the wedding when it’s all said and done.

I think dusky blue with pink flowers would look amazing!

Haha I got what you meant! I totally agree – I’ve heard so many times that the day goes by quickly so I definitely want to have beautiful photographs at the end of it!

I agree! Although I would add Videography too. My fiancé is French (where we are also having the wedding) and apparently photography and videography don’t always come together. Our Photographer only does photos though and my Fiancé doesn’t want to also pay for a videographer ::sigh:: still working on him!

I was just having a conversation about wedding flowers and this came up! I’ve been leaning towards a blue and white color scheme but after seeing photos of floral arrangements I’m looking at blue, pink and white. There are some really pretty options out there for that color combo. There’s a magazine called “Wedding flowers & Accessories” (I think it’s a U.K. based magazines) that has some really pretty arrangements with that color combo in their May/ June issue.

That sounds absolutely beautiful! I tried doing my colour scheme yesterday and it sounds very similar to yours. I was thinking of just doing pink and white but my concern is that everything looks very same-y if it’s all just a pale blur haha! I think the blue adds a little something extra 🙂 I’ll try and look for that magazine, thank you! I’m currently stalking Style Me Pretty Real Weddings with a blue theme!

I love hearing your wedding updates (we’re getting married one november so it’s lovely hearings how someone else’s planning is going too!) I think that blue bridesmaids dresses would look gorgeous with white and pink flowers – adds in something a little different and I think the contrast will be beautiful!! Lauren Xx

Another November brides here I think blue dresses and pink flowers would be From your pins, it looks like you’re going for a soft romantic theme: lots of white, classical & floral wedding touches, which I love. The blue dresses with pink garden roses and/or peonies would be dreamy!

Honestly I’ve just been trying to go for what I’m drawn to rather than trying to nail down a specific theme. Which tbf, pretty much all looks the same so I guess it works out haha! What colours are you going for? I’ve been looking at the Style Me Pretty archives obsessively and LOVE seeing how other people incorporate colours into their weddings!
