My 2016 Handbag Wishlist!

It’s been a few months since I shared my last wishlist and a couple of things have changed since I did so I thought I would give another update for the upcoming new year! I’ve been lucky enough to add two of the bags that I featured on my previous wishlist to my collection: the Chanel Boy bag in black quilted lambskin with ruthenium hardware and a Chanel mini in a bright colour. These acquisitions, along with some serious mulling has led to this revised wishlist!

I envision far fewer bag purchases in 2016, not least because I’m moving into my first home with my boyfriend – which isn’t an inexpensive exercise itself, not to mention the cost of furnishing a three bedroom flat! That said, there are a few things that I have been eyeing up… The chances of me buying all of these is next to zero but if I’m lucky, I may be able to add one or two pieces to my collection.

So, without further ado, I present to you my updated wishlist:

1. Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM

I’ve been saying I’ve been going to get a Neverfull MM for ohh, only about 8 months now. I had every intention of buying this bag (even writing a blog post about my deliberation here) but I got thwarted by Chanel every time! 2016 is the year I hope to add at least one more Neverfull to my collection – my current Mono GM is holding up valiantly but I did spot the inside pocket lining coming apart the other day… a sure sign that almost constant use is getting it down! My current thoughts are that it’s going to be a Mono MM first… and then after that seeing how I get on with the size to see if a DE MM is on the cards too!

2. Fendi Peekaboo

I go back and forward on the Fendi Peekaboo A LOT. I’ve found the perfect combo for me – black calfskin with a minty turquiose and coral pink Monster charm which I adore. My hesitancy comes from the fact that these are pretty pricey – the combo would run me over £3000 which for a non-Chanel bag (even if they do share the same designer!) is a lot! I’m not generally a fan of spending that kind of money on seasonal/ trendy bags, i.e. the type that usually goes on sale, which is why I usually stick to Chanel and Louis Vuitton. That said, I do think this bag is a classic of sorts so I may wait and see how I feel about this one in a few months!

3. Lady Dior

For the longest time, I thought this bag was so not me. And then, one day, it just sort of grew on me. Even more shocking – I actually like this in the patent leather and I am really not a patent girl. I don’t really like dark colours in patent leather but in lighter colours, I think it can look very pretty and playful. I haven’t tried this bag on yet (the line to get into the Dior boutique in Selfridges is always nuts!) but I may have a wander to see if I can find a baby blue patent version, which I think is the prettiest of pale colours!

4. Louis Vuitton Cluny BB

This bag came out of nowhere for me but I am OBSESSED! This could of course have something to do with how much I’ve been enjoying my Alma BB and the wonderful functionality of having both the top handle and the long strap available (without either looking silly as some larger bags do with long straps). For me, it’s all about the versatility and the Alma BB works great for day and night without compromise for either – I suspect the Cluny BB might be the same. I adore the Rose Ballerine colour so this might be a winner for me.

5. Chanel Taupe Jumbo

This is a repeat wishlist item from my last wishlist post. I have a £300 credit note to spend at Chanel so I’m keeping everything crossed that this is the year that they release the taupe shade of my dreams and I can finally completely my Chanel collection. Apart from that though, I’m not looking to add any more flap bags from Chanel – despite the urge to collect a classic flap in every colour, what I have is more than enough so I’m going to be staying away from the Chanel Shopping Thread on TPF and focusing on trying to enjoy my collection as is 🙂

6. Chanel Boy Pink

That said, if a Chanel Boy were to come along in *just* the right shade of pink, this might be too hard to resist. In my last wishlist, I said that one Boy would be enough and that I was debating between the pink and the black. Well, now that I own the black, I’m not so sure about that resolve 🙂 It’s such a fantastic bag and even though I’m not one for bag trends, I think this is just so on point, even after being out for a few years. I love the style and it really is surprisingly versatile – as well as being a nice change from the traditional and sometimes slightly stiff Chanel aesthetic.

The list above is fairly pricey and realistically, I don’t need to be spending what amounts to around £14k in more bags! I’d like to limit myself to four this year and that’s with the provision that I get rid of at least a few from my current collection. I was lucky to cross pretty much everything off my wishlist for 2015 and from my go-to brands, Chanel and Louis Vuitton – there really isn’t anything else which is catching my eye, with the exception of the above.

Thank you so much for reading and please do share what’s on your wishlist for the coming year, I would love to hear what everyone else is lusting after 🙂

Hi Amie! I wasn't really sure how I felt about the Chanel boy bag, but you've fully converted me! I just watched your "What's In My Chanel Boy Bag," and it's now officially on my bag wish list. I have a weakness for most things pink and I can just imagine toting this around on a Spring day in Paris. What an absolute dream!

Also I'm following you on Bloglovin' and I've entered your giveaway via YouTube as Samantha Scribbles and on Twitter as @AweSamScribbles.

Fingers crossed and all the best wishes,
    Sam xx

Hey Amie, I absolutely adore your wishlist & was thrilled when I saw the Fendi Peekaboo bag was included in your wishlist, as it is a very stunning and unique piece! I also think that the keychain would be a great way to jazz up the whole bag!
I started watching your YouTube videos a few months back and needless to say, I am beyond grateful to have stumbled on your channel! Besides, I would like to know what are your thoughts on the Celine Luggage Tote & the Givenchy Antigona Bag.
Have a great day and I can't wait for your next video!!! 🙂
    Love, Tayler.

    Hi Amie!
Your 2016 wish list is nearly identical to my own wish list. The Louis Vuitton Cluny BB just took me by surprised when I tried it on at the boutique. Of course being a black handbag kind of gal I looked at it in the noir. I just purchased the Chanel Boy in the black quilted lambskin with RHU hardware and am in totally in love with that bag. I can definitely understand why a pink Le Boy is calling out to you 🙂 I hope you are able to obtain a couple of your wish list items this year! For now, I am off to band island where I will stay till after my home purchase. I guess we will both be off of TPF for now….hahahahaha
fyi…please enter me in your giveaway xoxoxoxo

Amie you should check out the Chanel boy bags that just recently came out. They're patent leather with pastel colours (just like the lady dior) and they are beautiful. They're going out in 2 weeks so check it out. I saw them at the Harrods boutique and you need one in your collection. They're just very different than the usual ones especially because the hardware is a lighter gold. Might get it if I can get my hands on them before they leave the boutiques.

Hi, re My Wishlist, I did check out the Tory Burch Tote and I did like it, but I didn't love it. It is very simple and elegant because of its simplicity, and that works for so may ladies, but I love to have bags at my side with substance, design, texture and floppiness. Yes, I said it, floppiness, I have heard others on youtube refer to this as smooshy. Well that is me. So, for a tote on my wishlist is the Matt and Nat Raylan, Large in Chile. It is so amazing and it is actually a diaper bag (if you like). The whole concept behind Matt and Nat, (material and nature) is something I can get behind. I do LOVE my LVs, and I have owned and sold quite a few. I do love the canvas, the monogram, the azur, the vachetta, the hardware…so much to love BUT there is nothing currently I am lusting after in LV, even in small leather goods but I don't have a tote I love, so I am stalking this bag, so please check it out…I tried the Chanel GST Tote at the boutique but it slipped off my shoulder. The LV Neverful didn't work for me either, 🙁 …I do love the open and sheer size but there is just something about the skinny straps that didn't work. Another contemporary satchel I just purchased as I loved the colour and large smooshyness is from Tyoulip Sisters – Brooklyn New York. It's quite unique, no one will have it but me…and its a nice add to my collection. For high end, I do love the Chanel in Taupe colour you show here, it's killer but as I am a lot further along in my career, the time may never come but perhaps a mini flap…in a fun colour…anyways, loved your vid…so much fun. Take care. c
