LV Neverfull, Saint Laurent & Tory Burch Review

This has been so highly requested that I thought I would bump it up my filming schedule! I did a work tote comparison last year and since then I’ve bought three all new ones so I thought I would do a little update. I’m a huge fan of tote bags as they are so care-free and perfect for work to sling all of my essentials in.

I receive my Tory Burch Perry tote for Christmas last year and it has fast become one of my favourite bags, period! It’s such a great example of a bag that is gorgeous and practical but doesn’t have to cost the earth. The Louis Vuitton Neverfull I bought in April and has been on constant repeat over the past few months and I most recently received the Saint Laurent tote for my birthday. I’ve only used it for a few weeks but having been loving how minimalist it is.

Tory Burch Perry Tote

Mine is in the colour Cloud Blue and whilst this is a seasonal colour, no longer available, Tory Burch always seem to come out with gorgeous new combinations.

Whilst I’m not a fan of the big Tory Burch logos, I think this is beautiful and subtle.

The lining is full leather and is wonderfully carefree. You can literally wipe it clean and be good to go.

The only wear to mention is the tarnishing on the logo plate. This isn’t ideal and I was actually surprised to see it but to be honest, I find this pretty minor.

Dimensions: 14.5 x 11.25 x 6 inches

If you’re lucky enough to live in the US, there is a Tory Burch sale happening right now!

Use the code ‘FALL16‘ for 30% off your order at checkout.

The French Grey with Peony lining colour combination looks like it’s sold out but the light oak colour is still available here.

Price USD (full price) = $395.00, Price GBP (full price): £355.00

You can also buy the Perry Tote from Nordstrom (US) and FarFetch (International and UK).

Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM

Next up is the Louis Vuitton Neverfull! I feel like this doesn’t even need an introduction – the Neverfull is well and truly iconic now and is my personal preference over other classics like the speedy. It took me a while to warm up to MM size but I now love it. It’s perfect for summer when wearing less bulky clothing and the colour combination of Damier Azur with Rose Ballerine lining is perfect 🙂

One of my favourite elements is the pouch. This has totally made my mini pochette redundant and I frequently find myself reaching for it.

The outside is incredibly durable and after many years of use, my GM still looks fantastic on the exterior. The interior of the rose ballerine lining does mark extremely easily though and is the biggest downfall to this beautiful bag. I love it enough to look past this though and as mentioned in the video, a little vanish spray and some anti-bacterial wipes do seem to do the trick!

Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM available online here.

Dimensions: 12.6 x 11.4 x 6.7 inches

USD price: $1260.00, GBP price: £835.00

If looking preloved, you can try Vestiaire Collective and TheRealReal but as a warning, Neverfull resale values tend to be high!

Saint Laurent Shopper Tote

I think this must be one of my most frequently asked about bags, I had no idea that it was so popular! I’ve only seen this once in real life on another person (in black) and it looked gorgeous. I love how minimal this is and I think it is the perfect work tote, wonderfully understated and eternally chic.

The pouch is an added bonus but because of the size isn’t quite as useful as the LV pouch. Unlike the Neverfull, this pouch is in lieu of a pocket – annoying but not the end of the world for me personally although I understand how this could be a deal breaker for some people.

I love the little details on this tote though – they really are lovely.

As mentioned in the video, the one big downfall of this bag (like the Neverfull) is how delicate the lining is. It seems to scratch extremely easily – the above image shows about 8 days worth of use. I haven’t babied it but at the same time, I don’t think I am particularly rough with my bags.

I like the bag enough to look past this but it’s certainly worth bearing in mind if you are fussy about the details.

Dimensions: 14.4 x 10.9 x 5.1 inches

Saint Laurent Tote (my exact colour) available here.

USD price: $995.00, GBP price: £590.00

Also available from MyTheresa, Nordstrom and FarFetch

Beautiful bags 🙂 I have just one question: which one of them is the lightest one. I do not like heavy bags especially as I am always stuffing them too much and then carrying around excess weight. I'm considering to buy Saint Laurent, just in black colour. Thanks 🙂

Lovely handbags! I am looking at getting the Perry Tote, but the French gray I had been eyeing sold out! The Perry and Saint Laurent are much more my style. I like the simplicity of the designs and inconspicuous like logos… I wonder if I could order the Saint Laurent bag through the link you posted. I'm in the U.S and the price difference is crazy!

Great choice of bags, I really liked the YSL one but the lack of pocket and untreated lining made me step away from it 🙁 nevertheless great post! x

    Hi Amie!
Thanks for the wonderful and informative post and video! I have a question for you: I'm considering an LV neverfull in MM size, and I'm wondering whether it will fit a Macbook pro 15" laptop. Would you happen to know the answer? I did not find any videos demonstrating the fit on youtube.
    Thanks!

Hey Amie, thanks for recommending Tory Burch perry tote as I love it! Is really a great workhorse tote! I recently just found a new love with Tory Burch and it is their mini wallet – Robinson mini wallet collection. If you love mini wallets and don't want to break the bank for it, I would really suggest you to have a look at https://www.toryburch.com/robinson-mini-wallet/31159002.html. It is similar size to LV zippy coin purse. But the difference is that it actually is a fully functional wallet with card slots and 2 bill slots and a coin compartment Best of all it comes in so many pretty colors I got mine in the apricot. Hope you will check it out

    Hi Amie,
I really enjoy your videos. They are so helpful!
I was wondering if you could maybe recommend a good laptop bag?
-If you do try to put in a MacBook 13"/15" into one of bags mentioned in this post, how much space does it take up?

    Hi Amie,

I am wanting to purchase the Saint Laurent tote for school but afraid the bag is too fragile and the straps may break. I do baby my bags but I will be carrying at least one textbook and a laptop. I am hoping I can get your thoughts on the durability!

    Thanks 🙂
