FAQs!

I get asked a few specific questions all the time so I thought I would go ahead and answer them all here! I try to answer as many questions as I can on a daily basis but with so many different channels and social media platforms to keep up with, I struggle to keep on top of it all at times. Hopefully this will serve as a useful reference point if you are looking for an answer to a particular question. It’s a blog post at the moment but I will move these over to a permanent FAQ page in the near future. As I get more frequent questions, I’ll add them to this page 🙂

What is my job?
I work in marketing in the B2B space and I am currently working for a technology company in London.

What camera do I use to film?
I use the Canon 700D to film and take blog photos. I also use the Canon G7X for vlogging.

What camera do I use to take my Instagram photos?
With the exception of blog photos, I use my iPhone for 95% of the photos you see on my Instagram. The other 5% are taken with my Canon 700D.

What do I use to edit?
I use FinalCut Pro for my videos and Photoshop/ Lightroom for my blog photos.

What colour is my Gucci Soho Disco?
When I bought my Gucci Soho, the colour was just listed as ‘Pink’. Not super helpful I know! The colour since seems to have come back in stock (last seen at Net-a-Porter.com) and was listed as ‘Powder’.

Can I recommend any pre-loved sites for buying?
I have a full post on this topic here. I don’t have any particular favourites but I have bought from eBay, Vestiaire Collective and VideDressing before.

Where do I sell my bags?
Nowadays I sell my bags on my blog and I promote my sales on my Instagram.

When is my next blog sale?
There’s no rhyme or reason as to when I host a blog sale so the best thing to do is to keep an eye on my Instagram and blog as I announce there first!

Can I recommend any sites to sell luxury bags?
In a nutshell, no I’m afraid not! I don’t really like any of the current offerings for different reasons. I find eBay to be extremely biased against sellers, Vestiaire Collective extraordinarily expensive and other options are either clunky or don’t have the audience. For this reason, I prefer to sell on my blog however if I happen across a great selling platform, I will definitely share it!

Why don’t you own any Celine/ Saint Laurent/ Hermès/ Chanel Reissue/ xxx brand bags?
I have nothing against any of these brands or bags but the fact is, like everyone else, I have a limited budget which means I have to pick and choose what bags I buy carefully. If I don’t own a particular bag, it’s simply because I liked something else in my collection more. This is purely down to personal preference and lifestyle and shouldn’t be taken personally – if you like a certain bag, then go for it! 🙂

How do you care for/ store your bags?
I store my bags on shelving in my closet/ office. I don’t keep them in dustbags (I like to look at them!) but I do stuff many of them if I feel like they need it. As for care, I really don’t do anything special! For Chanel lambskin, I may buff the leather using the cloth that Chanel provides every now and then but that is it. For other bags, if I see a dirty mark, I will likely just use a baby wipe.

P.S. If you guys have any great tips for cleaning your bags, let me know!

Where is my necklace that I wear in a lot of videos from? Is it by Tiffany?
My necklace is very similar to the Tiffany one but it was custom made for me as a gift from my boyfriend. One of his very good friends is a jeweler and Dan wanted slightly different details to the one that Tiffany offered so he had him make it. You can find his jewelry store here or if you live in Birmingham, you can visit his new store in the Jewelry Quarter! 🙂

I hope you found this useful and please let me know if you have any other questions down below!

    Hi Amie,
Fun Q&A page! May I ask how you care for the vachetta on your LV items? Do you let them patina naturally and just keep the leather away from water and other liquids as much as possible? Any recommendations for bag organizers for the LV neverfull?
    Thanks Amie!

Hi Ria! I actually don't do anything at all to the vachetta. I only have vachetta on my neverfulls and I love the fact that they are such carefree bags so I try to worry about things like patina. As for organisers, I don't have one for my neverfull but I have used Samorga organisers in the past and they are fantastic!

    Hi Amie,
Could you also share your tips on shoe care? Both inside and out. Your heels always look so pristine!

Baby wipes! I always make sure my feet are clean before wearing any of my shoes and then will also give me heels a quick wipe after use 🙂

    Hi Amie,

Just stumbled on your blog and your you tube channel. I think you're doing a great job and it's great to see someone's thought process as they buy a luxury bag. My boyfriend also thinks I am crazy 🙂

I have been thinking about starting a blog for sometime now and you've really inspired me.

Anyway just wanted to let you know I'm really enjoying your work and look forward to seeing what you do next.

    All the best,

    My Linh

I’m hoping that you could help me on some of the questions below? I just graduated from LSE in business and management and I’m interested in marketing / product marketing. I’m wondering if theres’s any particular skill sets required in marketing i.e. data analytics / SEO / SEM / UI / UX? What are the tasks performed by a marketing manager? How’s your average day at work like? How’s marketing in technology companies like as compared to other companies you’ve worked in? What kind of user / market research do you do? Than you! 😀
